Hi, I'm Kia Gardner
There are four foundational insights that guide my coaching:
1. Freedom isn't found; it's designed and intentional.
Whatever freedom means to you, this isn't about "pivoting", it's about completely rewriting the rules around what's possible for you at this rich stage in your life.
2. The skills that got you here ARE the skills that will get you there - you just need to strip away that limiting institutional wrapper.
You're standing in mastery right here, right now. This mastery will absolutely help you get where you want to go in your business.
3. "It's never too late" misses the point. The point is, now is the best time in your life to do this.
You have survived life, career, and family for at least (or almost) a quarter of a century, which means you have discernment, resources, self-knowledge, and most importantly, zero tolerance for nonsense.
4. Starting or growing a business at this stage of life feels foreign because it IS foreign - and foreign can be exactly where your confidence, aliveness, and fulfillment lies. The stretch is always good.
Discomfort is data, not disaster.
How it all started...
In 2021, I decided that I needed a change. A big one. So, in 2023, at the age of 57, having never lived abroad before, I left everything I knew in the United States, including a 30-year career in design, and sought my dream to live and work in the wonderful country of France.
I've spent my entire career as a business owner, so I know the joys and challenges of starting and growing a business. The exact same things you will face and are facing, are the same thing that I have faced and am facing!
Thanks to these crazy adventures, massive changes, and adjustments, I can tell you that if entrepreneurship is what you are being called to do or continue doing, you already have everything you need to make achieve whatever your business goals happen to be. Together, we will excavate that magic.
Yes, it's challenging. Yes, it's scary. And yes, it does get a bit too real sometimes! But the freedom that you feel and the confidence that you gain is priceless.

My childhood home was actually inside a cemetery. It didn't seem odd at the time, but now that I'm telling you...
If I could only take 5 vinyl albums to a deserted island, they'd be:
"Speak No Evil" by Wayne Shorter, "Aja" by Steely Dan, "Gershwin's World" by Herbie Hancock, anything by Pat Metheny,
and Wynton Marsalis.
Jazz is my everything!
I'm madly in love with Albert Einstein, Denzel Washington,
Al Pacino, and the cartoon character, "The Tick".
Books are my favorite people.
I don't spend nearly enough time with them.
Although my beloved father was a musical prodigy, I have absolutely no musical talent, or rhythm,
nor can I sing. Or dance.
That genetic gamble is rough!
When I die and come back in the next lifetime, I want to be a whale marine biologist who plays the upright bass in a jazz quintet, paints watercolors, grows dahlias, and lives by the sea in France with three miniature schnauzers.
I had the good fortune of getting to know and work with Kia over the past few months. She's a charismatic, razor-sharp, and thoughtful executive coach.
